Kiwi star batter, Kane Williamson will be returning to the IPL 2025 but not as a player. He will be seen in the commentary box entertaining the fans through his key insights and expertise from a spectator’s perspective. He was part of the Gujarat Titans but was released during the mega auction that took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He was acquired by the Gujarat Titans for a sum of ₹2 crores in the previous season.

Unfortunate IPL Season
Kane Williamson played for the Sunrisers Hyderabad from 2015 to 2022 and was a significant contributor for the Hyderabad franchise when they won the title under Australia’s David Warner in 2016. He played just one match in which he got injured in his knee while fielding against the Chennai Super Kings which resulted in him being ruled out for the entire season. He was Bought by the Gujarat Titans for the 2023 season.
Williamson’s Journey From IPL To PSL
Because of his injury concerns, His IPL appearances have been sabotaged over the years. Since he joined the Gujarat franchise, he has played only three matches. His IPL record is however quite impressive. He has managed to get 2,128 runs in 79 matches. The former New Zealand captain will be featured in PSL which is scheduled from 8 April to 19 May. Williamson will be playing for the Karachi Kings where he will play along with his former Sunrisers Hyderabad teammate, David Warner.
