India finishes off the innings at 249/9. Two important wickets of Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja were sent back to the pavilion by spectacular catches from Glenn Phillips and Kane Williamson respectively. Virat Kohli was dismissed at backward point. Just on the previous ball, Dinesh Kartik called Glenn Phillips the best fielder in the world and Phillips justified it completely. Jadeja was dismissed similarly at the backward point and gave his wicket to Matt Henry with an outstanding catch to Kane Williamson.

Shreyas Iyer’s 79 runs
Both the Indian openers were dismissed early at a mere 22 runs. Gill was dismissed at just 2 runs by Matt Henry and Rohit Sharma was dismissed by Kyle Jamieson at 15 runs. New Zealand had been in a completely dominating position right from the start. Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel tried to stabilize the innings by building a partnership of 98 runs. Iyer made a commendable 79 runs when he was dismissed by William ORourke and fell short of a potential ODI century.
Flying Kiwis
The Kiwi fielders were seen flying all around the ground with an intention to win from the start. Apart from the successful catches, the black caps did not leave any effort to stop the ball. Shami ultimately fell into the hands of Glenn Phillips when he came down running from deep mid-wicket and completing the catch.
Fifer for Matt Henry
Although the score for New Zealand is not a mountain pile, India’s experiment to bring in new mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy might bring some luck for them as they are now playing with 4 spinners and just 2 fast bowlers. Matt Henry came out today with a five wickets hall comprising crucial wickets of Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammad Shami.
