A crucial Group A Champions Trophy 2025 match between India and Pakistan will be held at Dubai International Stadium on Sunday. For more than ten years Pakistan and India kept their bilateral matches inactive because of political disputes so they now compete only in international competitions which attract worldwide interest.

The first over belonged to Indian pacer Mohammed Shami who released numerous wide balls due to his inconsistent bowling line. Shami pushed the over from 11 to 12 deliveries thus becoming the anchor of the longest delivery sequence in Indian Champions Trophy history above the previous record set by Bumrah in the last match of the 2017 competition against Pakistan at The Oval.
Shami’s five wides during the initial over created another Champions Trophy record but Tinashe Panyangara from Zimbabwe maintains the all-time highest number of overbound balls with seven.
During his third over Shami needed assistance from team medical staff which raised doubts about his physical condition. Before continuing his bowling responsibilities Shami briefly stepped away from the field.
