According to the report, the poor performance of players including Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi alongside Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf during the Champions Trophy reportedly makes them vulnerable for team removal. Babar Azam took up the role of opening batsman during the tournament. During the tournament he managed to achieve only a single fifty. The bowling performance of Shaheen Afridi Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf proved ineffective during the competition.

As the host nation Pakistan put forward a regrettable performance in Champions Trophy 2025. During the competition, Pakistan only received three group matches yet failed to win any of them thus being eliminated.
