Who Is Parupalli Kashyap?

Born on September 8, 1986 in Hyderabad, Telengana, Kashyap started playing badminton at a very young age. He professionally started to train at the Pullela Gopichand Academy where he trained under legendary coach Pullela Gopichand. Over the time he emerged as one of the top players in India known for endurance, coverage and his fighting spirit.

Career Highlights

Kashyap achieved multiple milestones in his career which also made him visible on global stage. He scripted history by winning the gold medal in men’s singles and also became the first Indian male shuttler in 32 years to achieved the feat after Syed Modi in 1982. In 2012 London Olympics, he also became the first Indian male badminton player to reach the quarterfinals. In 2013, he achieved no.6 BWF ranking which is also his career-best.
