A storm is brewing in the world of cricket, as disturbing reports have emerged involving a current West Indies player. According to multiple media outlets, including Guyana’s Kaieteur News and SportsMax TV, a West Indies cricketer has been accused of rape and sexual assault by 11 women – one of whom is reportedly a minor.
The identity of the player has not been officially confirmed, but reports indicate that he is from Guyana and is part of the current West Indies Test squad, which is currently playing a three-match series at home against Australia.
In its report, Kaieteur News described the unnamed cricketer as a “monster in maroon,” highlighting the stark contrast between his public image and the grave allegations he now faces. “He walks in the light of day, wears maroon, represents the West Indies. He is hailed as a hero, but to these women, he is something else entirely a predator,” the report said.

Cricket West Indies Responds
When asked to comment, Cricket West Indies (CWI) stated that it had no prior knowledge of the allegations. CWI Chairman Kishore Shallow told SportsMax: “Cricket West Indies has no information about this matter and is therefore not in a position to comment at this time.”
Legal Action and Past Complaints
Nigel Hughes, the lawyer representing one of the women involved, told SportsMax TV that the allegations were originally made two years ago. An investigation was reportedly initiated, but no formal hearing or follow-up occurred. Hughes revealed that the accused cricketer played a central role in West Indies’ historic victory at The Gabba against Australia in 2024 – a win that received widespread celebration, especially in Guyana.
“There was a grand reception for him when he returned home,” Hughes said. “But after that, the matter seemed to disappear. No complaint was pursued further, and there has been no accountability.”
What Happens Next
The developments have sent shockwaves through the Caribbean cricketing community and beyond. While the player’s identity remains undisclosed, the seriousness of the accusations is drawing growing attention. Legal proceedings or further investigations could follow, depending on how the authorities respond in the coming days.
As of now, there has been no formal statement from the player or his legal representatives.
