Smriti Mandhana, the captain of the Royal Challengers Bangaluru women’s team, backs Rajat Patidar after he is appointed the captain of the Men’s team for the IPL 2025 edition. She also supports Patidar by arguing that he has the backing and guidance of the legend Virat Kohli, dismissing all the speculations about the young Patidar’s tenure as the skipper.
“I’m sure Rajat Patidar will get a lot of support from the Legends of the game like Virat Kohli in the team. He has the backing of Legend of the game. I’m sure he got a lot of backing in the RCB team”. She said.

Patidar’s Change of Fortune
Patidar’s journey has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride. Before 2022, his team released him and left him unsold at the auctions. He managed to transform his luck by taking his spot in the playing XI and smashing a century against Lucknow Super Giants. His struggle paid off when he was picked up as the franchise captain for this season.
RCB vs GG
The Royal Challengers Bangaluru will be playing against Gujarat Titans in the inaugural match of the Women’s Premier League 2025 on 14 February. This will be the second edition of the WPL. The RCB is the defending champions, but this time the team lacks some immense talent like Sophie Devine, Molinou and Kate Cross. Also, the tussle between the two powerhouses will be eyecatching and more over hard for Smriti and Co. because the Gujarat Gianst a will be led by Australian all-rounder Ashley Gardner.
