WPL Final: RCB Lift Maiden Title, Beat DC By 8 Wickets

In the final match of WPL, DC went off to a good start as it posted 64 runs for no loss in 43 balls on the scoreboard but following which they committed harakiri and lost all 10 wickets for just 49 runs in the tournament.

In Australia’s left-arm spinner Sophie Molineux (3/20) eighth over, DC’s downfall started as the player of DC tumbled like a deck of cards. She picked three wickets in her over.

Afterwards, the hosts struggled to recover, consistently losing wickets due to loose shots and the effective off-spin bowling of Shreyanka Patil (4/12) in the middle and late overs.

Choosing to bat first, DC captain Meg Lanning (23 off 23) and Shafali Verma (44 off 27) showcased a contrasting partnership as they steadily increased the scoring rate.

Lanning, the tournament’s second highest run-scorer, played a supporting role while Shafali aggressively accelerated after a slow start in the initial 11 deliveries.

DC suffered a collapse, losing seven wickets for just 23 runs during that phase, leading to chaos in their innings.
