Apple initiated the long-awaited WWDC event today, and in the first leg of the event, that is to continue over the next few days, the Cupertino brand has revealed the new OS updates and novel feature accessibilities. Apple has equipped a myriad of its existing and new applications with a new look and advanced features. The brand had further brought new updates all along its range of products and established that the new iOS 26 would work towards a cohesive design that would bring parity to the user interface on different devices such as the MAC, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and other Apple products.
The Event started with a promotion of the upcoming F1 movie that Apple has been a significant collaborator in, and beyond that, an extensive array of new feature announcements trickled in. Here is an in-depth look at all the changes and new features that Apple ahs announced in todays event.
iOS 26, New Updates
The event started with the announcements regarding the updates to the all-new iOS 26, we guess iOS update names would now correspond to the years of their full launch. The Apple team showcased the addition of all-new Foundation Models Framework that would allow better functions to be instilled in the phone’s operating system. Apple revealed that it went through its last major Apple redesign with iOS 7, so it was high time that the OS received a new update. The iOS 26 would have a universal design across platforms. The iOS design has been based on a liquid glass design that would give the applications and home screen layout a more enhanced appeal. Apple has also equipped their new devices, compatible with the new iOS update, with a transparent design option that would allow a transparent look for all icons and widgets.
With the new changes, web pages would now flow from edge to edge, accentuating text for better readability. Other than that, changes to the phone and messaging applications would allow users to easily screen calls before picking up. A new hold assist feature has been added that would keep the phone on hold and allow you to do other tasks while on a call with telemarketers or waiting in a virtual queue to get to an operator.
Apple has further changed the chat background messaging experience, users would be able to create new polls, typing indicators for group chat senders, and the Ability to screen new senders.
New changes to the Music App
With the new changes to the Music App Apple would be able to translate lyrics to ensure that users can enjoy music from around the world. With the new liquid glass interface, the album art would be showcased as a feature across the screen. And beyond that, users would be able to set in recommendations for mixing soundtracks, shifting to new songs before the current one ends or other features with updated Apple intelligence.
Beyond these changes, the Map application from Apple would now be able to remember visited places and recommend them. Apple Pay would now offer the ability to redeem points earned online in person while offline shopping. Beyond that, Apple has updated their gaming application as well, which would now allow gamers a safe haven to socialize, compare, and compete in. Apple intelligence has also received a slew of updates that would allow the user to set reminders search with photographs, and raise queries whenever and wherever.
Apple Watch
Apple Watch would get a slew of new features, most notably being the workout buddy that would analyze the data of your workout recorded by the smartwatch and encourage you to step ahead through the AirPods. To further ensure that you do not seem to hinder the quiet ambience in certain spaces, the Apple watch would now be able to modulate its notification chime based on the ambient sounds in the room. And beyond that users would be able to navigate beyond useless notifications with a simple wrist flick.
TV OS Updates Would Include
The TV OS update would include Live lyrics translation in the music app, more live language captions in FaceTime, new notifications pane, a FaceTime redesign, and ability to choose your profile on wake functions. Beyond that, the new liquid design art would continue to the Tv OS as well.
Mac OS Redesign
The Mac OS redesign that has now been named the OS Tahoe would now include anew game overlay and a liquid glass design with on-con tinting. Users would be able to streamline their daily functions through Spotlight and shortcut accessibility. New features would also include the ability to customize folders and optimize quick key options.
New Vision OS Features
With the all-new iOS 26, Vision Pro would be updated with a slew of new updates that would include Logitech Muse, PlayStation VR2 Sense Controller 90 Hz hand tracking and knowledge of the Spatial Scenes and all-new persona. One of the most standout features with the new update would be that the users would be able to save their hand and eye data on the user files on their phone to use Vision Pro anywhere. Users would be able to go through Safari Spatial, browsing team device sharing, and other features as well.
iPad OS Updates!
With the new OS update iPad users would now be able to tile up their homescreen for easier multi tasking and work management, have the feature to live translate, and use new features such as preview, Expose local Audio/video capture use Genmoji appearances and use an all new windowing system and a new pen.
