The Mobile World Congress is renowned for providing major tech manufacturers with a global platform for sharing new innovations and Devices. Apart from the CES the MWC 2025 is more focused towards the Smartphone related technologies, and it’s meant for a global audience, hence it’s apparent that quite of lot of the new technology that is showcased might not find its way to India, or sometimes even into production.
This year you can expect announcements from brands such as Xiaomi, Nothing and beyond that Samsung and Google would be launching new tech as well. Here are a few of the most interesting technological spurts that have caught our attention.
Motorola Smart Connect
One of the most intriguing new developments from the MWC 2025 has been the Motorola Smart Connect, this tech allows you to Wirelessly connect a Motorola Phone to a Lenovo Pc. Through this you can easily use your phone to search documents with natural language across platforms and devices, or beyond that you can use the phone to cast Instagram or Pc on your screen.

Infinix has showcased a new phone concept that has an integrated solar panel etched on the back panel. Beyond that, the phone also has a solar-power charging phone case. While the concept is under development it can lead to a considerable headway into a new technological innovation.
As per Antonio G. Di Benedetto the phone uses perovskite solar cells. These cells are thinner and cheaper to produce than the traditional solar power cells. Beyond that these are paired with systems that help regulate voltage. As per the details, this tech can charge the phone up to 2W’s.
Lenovo’s New Solar Powered Laptop
Solar power has seemingly become the subject matter for the next leg of innovations as apart from the Solar power Infinix phone concept Lenovo has also shared a new Laptop that can be charged through solar energy. The Yoga Gen Solar PC is an early under-development iteration of a concept in which the devices would feature a series of solar panel cells integrated into the laptop’s top. The Laptop has been aimed to help users work outside without depending increasingly on wires and cables.

The Laptop that the addition of the solar panels has been tried on is a Think Book Plus Gen 6, featuring an expanding and rollable OLED display. Beyond the solar panel Laptop Lenovo is also trying new Glasses Free 2D/3D computers with Ring Rollers.
The New concept uses directional backlighting and head tracking to simultaneously show 2d and 3d content to users without glasses. And beyond that the new 3d module can be controlled with a wearable ring and gesture-based controls.
Xiaomi launches 15 and 15 Ultra Flagships For European Markets
Xiaomi has announced the new 15 and 15 ultra in Europe and Uk. While enthusiasts were expecting the launch to involve a pro model as well, Nothing of the sort was showcased or launched by the Brand. Beyond that, the brand has showcased a bunch of Tablets, Earbuds, Fitness Trackers and a dedicated camera kit that appear alongside the phone.

No timeline of the Indian launch has been shared- the phone cost £1,299 / €1,499 for the ultra and £899 / €999 for the base 15
HMD Showcases New Earbuds
HMD Global showcased new Earbuds that beyond the normal course of use also double as a power bank for the phone. HMD has named these earbuds the Amped Buds, these are accompanied by a Qi2 charging case that uses a reverse charging module to boost your phone’s charge as well.

The portability of the new charging case has suffered a bit due to the presence of a 1,600 mAh battery case. The Earbuds have been priced at €199 and would launch in April. Further, the Earbuds have noise cancellations and environmental Noise Cancellation and the case has been rated for IPX4 dust resistance and IP54 splash resistance.
