A Bengaluru-based techie recently made an urgent job appeal on Reddit where he expressed his desperation after struggling to get a full-time job for over two years. The user wrote, “Burn my resume but please help. Desperate & ready to work for free remotely – 23′ grad looking for a Job ASAP.” The user, a 2023 graduate, shared information about his skills and academic background in his resume. He mentioned himself as a driven software engineer proficient in Python and Java.
He holds a B.E. degree in Information Science and Engineering. His resume reads, “Passionate about creating user-friendly applications and solving challenges with innovative solutions and seeking an entry-level role to bring fresh ideas and drive impactful software development.” As per his CV, besides being specialized in Java and Python, the techie is also proficient in DevOps, Cloud Computing, and Machine Learning. He has previously worked as a technical and product engineer intern in two companies, both lasting a month.

While some Reddit users helped him by providing job leads, others gave him constructive feedback to rework his CV. Let’s take a look at some mixed responses to his post. A user wrote, “Bruh, only a handful of companies are offering WFH now. Many of the companies are pushing for WFO, so it’s highly unlikely that you’ll get WFH roles now. Expand your search for hybrid models of working.” Another user commented, ‘My friends works for naukri dot com , he said atleast 25-30 interviews it take on an average for fresher to land a IT job in 2019 now its 40-45, try to give as much as interview possible. These numbers are way less in other fields Mostly 10-15.”
Meanwhile, a third user remarked, ‘Wishing you find a job soon, all the best OP!” A fourth user said, “I am looking for people to build a website for my company. If you are unemployed and looking for a job we can negotiate on the cost and should be able to build it. Currently its a startup so cannot hire a fulltime developer.”
