Viral Video: A recent viral video of a woman claiming that she was delivered ‘Chicken Biryani’ instead of veg Biryani has been making rounds on the internet. In the video, Chhaya Sharma of Greater Noida alleged that she ordered veg biryani from Swiggy during Navratri but received non-veg biryani instead. She further claimed that the hotel was listed as ‘pure veg’ on the food delivery app while sobbing.
Meanwhile, she even turned the camera to show the biryani containing meat pieces, noting, “I am pure vegetarian and I even ate a few pieces from the dish. They have sent me non-veg biryani on Navratri.” News24, being a responsible digital platform, couldn’t verify the authenticity of the claim. Swiggy, on the other hand, is yet to comment on the matter.

The video, shared on the woman’s Instagram handle ‘Shining_Shadow_15_12’ has been watched by over 5 lakh people as of now, sparking mixed reactions. While many users lashed out at the restaurant for sending non-veg, others said that she should not have ordered online during Navratri. Well, this isn’t the first instance where such an incident has happened. There have been multiple similar cases in the past such as a cockroach in a sandwich, a pin in samosa, and more.
Here’s what social media users said:
“Strict action should be taken.”
“Biriyani without chicken/mutton isn’t a Biriyani. I don’t know why restaurants prepare veg biriyani by just adding biriyani flavours to pulao and sell them.”
“First of all if you are veg then you should ordered it from pure veg restaurants. It’s not her fault she order a veg biryani but received a non veg biryani. One thing she should’ve done was ek baar spoon se chala lenaa chahiye tha.”
“This is a clear case of Swiggy needing to improve its quality control and order accuracy. It’s important to double-check orders to avoid disappointing customers.”
“Disgusting, never trust these apps if you’re a vegetarian.”
