Jewar Airport News: Swiss Quality, Haveli-Style Courtyard – New Details About Upcoming Noida Airport Emerge

The project is constructed in 1,334 hectares of land. And in first phase around 1.2 crore passengers are expected to travel every year.

Delhi NCR to get the International airport by next year in the month of April. Trial for flights to began in few days at Noida International Airport, or Jewar Airport. This Airport will save people’s time, as people living nearby will no longer be moving towards Delhi to catch the flight. Now Noida itself will have its own airport.

CEO Christoph Schnellmann’s Statement On The Airport

As reported by NDTV, CEO of Noida International Airport CEO Christoph Schnellmann said that, their aim is to provide an experience to passenger which have Indian warmth and hospitality with swiss quality.

The Airport is located in UP’s Gautam Buddha Nagar district. It will see trial of flights in few days. The Noida airport is developed under Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, which is a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International. This operates under a public-private partnership with government of Uttar Pradesh and India.

The project is constructed in 1,334 hectares of land. And in first phase around 1.2 crore passengers are expected to travel every year. Initially, one runway will be operational. When the airport will get open it will have 10 aerobridges and three bus gates. Eventually there will be two runways.

Christoph Schnellmann said that, design was the major focus by the company since the project began. The airport will use natural lighting and ventilation, having a climate friendly approach.

“We are incredibly excited about the experience we are going to be able to offer our passengers. We talk about combining Indian warmth and hospitality with Swiss quality and efficiency. I think we have been very deliberate about designing the terminal (by) picking up elements of the rich architectural heritage of the region… An airport that is very much at home in north India, in Western UP. The commercial space will feature a large open-air courtyard reminiscent of some of the ‘havelis’ (traditional houses) found in the region,” said Schnellmann.
