2 cups all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup ghee, 1/2 cup lukewarm water, mawa, coconut, nuts, cardamom powder.
Combine flour, ghee, and lukewarm water. Knead until smooth. Cover and rest for 30 minutes.
Heat ghee in a pan.
Mix mawa, coconut, nuts, and cardamom powder. Adjust sweetness to taste.
Roll out the dough, place a spoonful of filling, and seal the edges. Use a gujiya mold or a fork to shape.
Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Fry the gujiyas until golden brown. Drain excess oil.
To bake instead of fry, preheat oven to 180°C. Brush with ghee and bake for 15-20 minutes. Experiment with different fillings and flavors.
Happy Holi! Share your homemade gujiyas with loved ones and enjoy the festive spirit.
