The number of odd days from 5 July 2007 to 17 January 2010:

2008 - 2009	Full years (1 Ordinary years + 1 Leap years)	(1 odd day × 1 Ordinary years) + (2 odd days × 1 Leap years) = 3 odd days	3
2010	1st January 2010 - 17 January 2010	17 January = 17 days	17 ÷ 7 = 3
Total odd days			10 ÷ 7 = 3

So, Three odd days will be added to Thursday because the day is asked in future.

∴ Sunday was the day of the week on 17 January 2010.

Hence, "Option 2" is the correct answer.
