- 1920 களின் முற்பகுதியில், தாழ்த்தப்பட்ட மக்களுக்கு சேவை செய்யவும், தமிழ் இலக்கியத்தை மேம்படுத்தவும், ராஜா சர் எஸ்.ஆர்.எம்.அண்ணாமலை செட்டியார், சிதம்பரத்தில் கிராமப்புற அமைப்பில் ஸ்ரீ மீனாக்ஷி கல்லூரி, ஸ்ரீ மீனாக்ஷி தமிழ் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஸ்ரீ மீனாக்ஷி சமஸ்கிருத கல்லூரி ஆகியவற்றை நிறுவினார்.
