Explanation:

Condenser:- It is a device in a steam power plant in which steam condenses and heat released by steam is absorbed by water.

The condensation of steam in a close vessel produces a partial vacuum due to a great reduction in the volume of low-pressure steam.

A thermal power plant converts the energy of fuel into power output or electricity.

  1. The working fluid is water which may be in liquid or vapor phase during its cycle of operation.
  2. The energy released by burning fuel is supplied to water.
  3. Steam is generated at high pressure and temperature.
  4. Steam is expanded in the turbine to low pressure. 
  5. Then, supplied to the reservoir (condenser) to condense the steam into the water using cooling water and condenser.
  6. The Condensate water is fed back to the boiler to reuse in the boiler by the pump.
