He has divided the teaching into four important components:
- Instructional Objectives: These represent teacher objectives as well as learner objectives. Their main purpose is to guide the teacher in the selection of the subject matter, materials, and activities while organizing teaching.
- Entry/Prior Behaviour: This behaviour pattern of a student at the time of entering the instructional process is called entry behaviour.
- Instructional Process: It is the teaching process or instructional strategies and actions to be taken by the teacher during the teaching-learning process. It will depend on the instructional objectives and types of learning materials.
- Evaluation of Achievement or Performance Assessment: It is the extent to which learning objectives are achieved by the learner or have been achieved at the end of the term.
