Derived from the Latin words Hortus and Cultura, which mean 'garden' and 'cultivation' respectively, horticulture is the practice of cultivating crops within a dedicated enclosure, typically a garden. It is the science and art of growing and nurturing horticultural crops like fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices, and ornamental, medicinal and aromatic plants. It also involves the improvement and utilization of these crops.
