Revenge

Kashmira Singh in consequence of his termination expressed a determination for revenge on at least two occasions. In pursuit of this, he contacted Gurubachan Singh to aid him in murdering Ramesh, son of the Food Officer.

Details of Murder

During festivities at the Sikh Gurudwara, Ramesh a five year old boy who was son of the Food Officer, L.P Tiwari was enticed away to the house of Gurudayal Singh. Ramesh was brutally murdered by Kashmira Singh with the assistance of Gurubachan. The body was tied up in a gunny bag. At that time, Gurubachan, carrying the wrapped body on his head and Kashmira Singh took it to the hut of Chowkidar near the Gurudwara. At midnight, they hired rickshaw coolie Shambhu to transport the bundle to a well about half a mile away where the body was disposed of.

Legal Proceedings

Kashmira Singh was convicted of the murder of Ramesh, a five-year-old boy and sentenced to death. Three others were tried alongside him including his brother Gurudayal Singh, his nephew Pritipalsingh and Gurubachan Singh. Gurudayal and Pritipalsingh were acquitted while Gurubachan confessed and was also sentenced to death.
