NID Counselling 2022 - Know Detailed Process, Fees & Documents Required!

The important details about the National Institute of Design (NID) Counselling process are released on its official website. The NID DAT Counselling is the last stage for the selection of candidates for various institutes of design. Students will be allotted to the NID campuses as per their preferences and merit list. 

• Most of the procedures for NID Counselling 2022 should be carried out through online mode.

NID Counselling 2022 Date

After the release of the final results of the NID DAT, the candidates will have to carry out certain steps to confirm their admission. The procedure for the allotment of seats for the B.Des programme and the M.Des programme is different from each other. The candidates have to log in to their profile and follow the instructions given carefully. The important dates for the counselling process are as follows.

NID Counselling 2022 Complete Process

The candidates must follow the below-given procedures to confirm their admission. The steps for the B.Des and M.Des are different from each other. Therefore, candidates should ensure the steps for their programme carefully. 

B.Des

The process of counselling for the B.Des candidates is as follows:

1. Viewing of the Results 

• The candidates can view their results by logging in to their profile in the admission portal.

2. Campus Preference

• Based on the availability of seats and the candidate’s respective category they will have to choose their preference of campus. 
• The deadline for this process should be strictly followed.
• If any candidate does not select their preference, their candidature will be cancelled and they will not be able to continue any further admission procedure.

3. Confirming the Seat

• According to their preference, the candidate will be allotted a seat.
• The candidate needs to confirm the seat by paying the fee and uploading the required documents.
• If the candidates fail to do any of the two steps, their candidature will be cancelled.

Paying a fee for the confirmation of a seat

• The candidate has to pay a fee for their confirmation of the allotted seat.
• The fee paid during this process is non-refundable. 

Uploading the required documents

• The candidates have to upload the required documents to the website.
• It should be uploaded as a single pdf with a size not more than 10 MB.

4. Verification of Documents

• The respective NIDs will verify the documents with the information provided in their application form.
• If any document is found to be false, the candidature of the candidates will be cancelled.

5. Provisional Offer-Letters for Admission

• After the verification, a Provisional Admission Offer Letter will be issued for the candidate.
• Further details about the admission will be contacted to the candidate by the respective NIDs.

M.Des

The process for the NID DAT Counselling for the M.Des candidates is as follows:

1. Viewing of the Results 

• The candidates can view their results by logging in to their profile in the admission portal.

2. Confirming the Seat

• According to the merit list and the candidates’ preferences (chosen during the time of application), the candidates will be allocated a seat.
• The candidate needs to confirm the seat by paying the fee and uploading the required documents.
• If the candidates fail to do any of the two steps, their candidature will be cancelled.

Paying a fee for the confirmation of a seat

• The candidate has to pay a fee for their confirmation of the allotted seat.
• The fee paid during this process is non-refundable. 

Uploading the required documents

• The candidates have to upload the required documents to the website.
• It should be uploaded as a single pdf with a size not more than 10 MB.

3. Verification of Documents

• The documents will be verified with the information provided in their application form.
• If any document is found to be false, the candidature of the candidate will be cancelled.

• After the verification, a provisional admission offer letter will be issued for the candidate.
• Further details about the admission will be contacted to the candidate by the respective NIDs.

What Options will be Available after NID Seat Allotment?

The candidates can verify whether they have been allotted any seat or not by logging in to their profile in the admission portal. If they have been allotted a seat, then the following steps must be carried out. The steps to be followed by both B.Des and M.Des candidates are the same.

Step 1: Pay the non-refundable fee for confirmation of seat through the payment portal.

Step 2: Upload the required documents in the right format.

Step 3: The documents will be verified and Provisional Offer Letters for Admission will be released.

Step 4: The candidates can download the Provisional Offer Letter.

Step 5: Now, the candidates have to follow the instructions as per the respective NIDs rules.

NID Seat Allotment 2022 - Fee Details

After the allocation of the seats, the candidates are required to pay a fee to confirm their seats. This fee will not be refunded to the candidates under any circumstances. The candidates who fail to pay the fee will be not able to participate in any of the further admission processes. Their seat will be allotted to the next eligible candidate. The fee details for both the B.Des and M.Des programmes are the same. The table below provides the details about the fees for each category of the candidate.

Documents Required for Verification After NID Seat Allotment 2022

The next compulsory step to be followed to confirm the seat is to upload all the required documents in the admission portal. Any candidate who fails to upload the documents will lose their seat to the next eligible candidate and will not be able to participate in further admission processes. The candidates should make sure that the documents that they are uploading have the same details as their application form. If the documents are found to be incorrect or invalid, the candidature will be cancelled. The candidates should also make sure to upload these documents within the last date. The candidates should upload the following documents as a single PDF file of size not more than 10 MB to the admission portal.

B.Des

The B.Des candidates have to upload the following documents:

• Any Valid Photo Identity Card (Adhaar card/ Election ID/ Driving Licence/ PAN Card/ Valid Passport)
• Birth Certificate OR School Leaving Certificate
• 10th Marksheet 
• 12th Marksheet (If the 12th mark sheet is not issued to the candidates till now, they can upload the digital copy of the same duly attested by the School Principal. If the candidates are awaiting their results, they need to upload the bonafide certificate, the format of which is available on the official website, issued by the School Principal specifying the Roll number and expected date of announcement of results.)
• GEN-EWS/ OBC-NCL/ SC/ ST, if applicable
• PwD Certificate, if applicable
• Valid Passport, if applied under the Overseas Category
• Equivalence Certificate, if the candidates have completed their 12th (or equivalent) outside India or from any board/university not mentioned in the admission handbook.

M.Des

The M.Des candidates have to upload the following documents:

• Any Valid Photo Identity Card (Adhaar card/ Election ID/ Driving Licence/ PAN Card/ Valid Passport)
• Birth Certificate OR Proof of Date of Birth OR School Leaving Certificate
• 10th Marksheet
• 12th Marksheet
• Consolidated Transcript OR Semester-wise Marksheet of the Graduation/Diploma Programme
• Graduation Certificate OR Provisional Degree Certificate OR Bonafide Certificate (if the candidate is awaiting their final results/the examination has not yet been conducted)
• GEN-EWS/ OBC-NCL/ SC/ ST, if applicable
• PwD Certificate, if applicable
• Valid Passport, if applied under the Overseas Category
• Equivalence Certificate, if the candidates have completed or will be completing their degree (or equivalent) from outside India or from any board/university not mentioned in the admission handbook.
