OPSC ACF Forest Ranger Recruitment 2024: Merit List (Out), Physical Test Dates

OPSC ACF Forest Ranger Merit List has been released for the Written Examination on 31st May 2025. The Written Examination for recruitment to the post of Assistant Conservator of Forests, (Group-A)(JB) and Forest Ranger was conducted from 18th August 2024 to 28th August 2024. The provisionally shortlisted candidates will be selected for the Physical Test, for which the notification will be released soon. A total of 176 vacancies have been released for ACF and Forest Ranger.

• A total of 176 vacancies have been released of which 45 are released for ACM and 131 are released for Forest Ranger.
• The candidates who possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university with at least one of the following subjects namely, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry and Zoology or a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification apply for the position of ACF and Forest Ranger.
• The selected candidates will get a salary range between Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 56,100.

OPSC ACF And Forest Ranger Recruitment 2024 - Apply Online

Candidates can had applied online from 29th May 2023 to 29th June 2023.

• In this process, you have to apply online for the OPSC ACF and Forest Ranger Recruitment by filling your details and uploading the required documents. After payment of fees, you can take a printout of the application form which is used for reference in upcoming stages of selection.

• Be prepared with all the necessary documents and passport size photographs, Left Thumb Impression which will be uploaded as a scanned copy.

• The candidate has to choose the examination center. It's advisable to be very particular with this step as the changes in the examination center will not be entertained once the online application form has been submitted.

How to Apply Online for the OPSC ACF And Forest Ranger Exam?

• Visit the official website of OPSC
• Click on the ‘Apply Online’ tab present on the top right corner of the screen.
• You will be redirected to a page where you can see the list of on-going recruitment(s) details.
• Select ‘Advertisement for recruitment to the post of Asst. Conservator of the Forest & Forest Ranger and select the ‘Attachment' tab.
• An applicant who is applying for the very first time for the post in the Commission and who doesn’t have Permanent Public Service Account No. and Username have to make registration as a “New User”
• Fill the application form with the utmost care. Details like name of the candidate, parent's/ guardian's name, gender, contact details, address, category, etc. should be filled without any errors.
• As you submit the application form, you will be the registered member of Odisha Public Service Commission, Before Login, you just need to “Activate Your Account” with the help of ACTIVATION KEY that has been sent to your registered mobile number and email ID.
• After "Login" it will show the details of the post you have registered. To proceed further click on the "Preview Registration" button
• Verify all the details and submit it. Now you have to make the Examination Fee payment online by clicking “Pay Online” Link
• After payment is successful, “Apply Now” link will appear. Click on it.
• On Successful completion of the application, a pdf file will be generated in a separate tab. Download the Pdf document and keep a printout of the same for future reference.

OPSC ACF And Forest Ranger Recruitment 2024 Application Fee

• An application fee of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) is applicable, which is non-refundable.
• Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD (whose permanent disability is more than 40%) of Odisha are exempted from paying the application fee.

OPSC ACF And Forest Ranger Recruitment 2024 Selection Process

There are mainly three stages that the candidates have to clear in order to be selected for the post of Assistant Conservator of Forest and Forest Ranger by OPSC.

Written Examination 

This stage-I of the OPSC ACF And Forest Ranger selection process is divided into 6 exams of 1400 marks. The exam tests the knowledge of candidates across topics of General Knowledge, General English, and subjects of Agriculture, Forestry, and Engineering. 

Physical Test

All the students qualified in the written examination will have to confirm the following physical standards to get selected for the position:

Height 

• Male – 163 cm.
• Female – 150 cm.

Chest Measurement

• Male – at least 84 cm. and expandable to at least 89 cm.
• Female – at least 79 cm. and expandable to at least 84 cm.

The candidates have to qualify the following physical endurance test of walking

• Male – 25 Kms. in four hours
• Female – 16 Kms. In four hours

The physical test of candidates will be carried out by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest

Viva Voce Test (Interview)

This is the final stage in the selection process of the OPSC ACF and Forest Ranger recruitment. All the candidates shortlisted in the written examination and physical test will be called for the interview. In this stage, candidates will be tested on their knowledge and skills required for their respective positions. A candidate who is called for this stage has to bring with them the hard copy of the online application and the original documents in support of the claims made by them during the application process.

The dates for certificate verification will be notified later on in due course by the commission. Failing to participate in this process will lead to permanent rejection from the recruitment. Candidates are required to mention each copy of the documents "Submitted by me" and put their signature and date on the same.

Note: The commission shall be competent to fix up the qualifying marks for any or all the subjects of the examination.

Certificates Needed for Candidate Verification 

Candidates must be ready with the following documents for the candidature verification round. The candidate is subjected to rejection if there are any discrepancies found by the commission in the claims made by the candidate. 

• HSC Marksheet in support of declaration of age.
• Intermediate/ +2 certificate.
• Bachelor’s Degree certificate from recognized University.
• Certificate of any other qualification.
• Certificates of conduct.
• Community certificate as per the norms.
• Aadhaar Card
• Required Odia Pass Certificate from the Board of Secondary Education
• Discharge certificate from Commanding Officer wherever applicable.
• Identity card of Sports Person issued by the Director of Sports, Odisha.
• Medical certificate in case of disability.
• OPSC copy of challan (pay-in-slip).
• 2 recent passport size photos.

OPSC ACF and Forest Ranger Recruitment 2024 Eligibility

The candidate must ensure that he/she fulfills the OPSC ACF and Forest Ranger Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria set by the commission. If the candidate does not meet any of the eligibility criteria, his/her application will be summarily rejected by the OPSC and application fees will neither be refunded nor adjusted.

• Candidates should be in the range of 21 to 32 years.
• The candidate must possess Bachelor’s Degree in any specialization from a recognized University with at least one of the following subjects namely, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry and Zoology.

OPSC ACF and Forest Ranger Recruitment Exam Pattern 2024

The OPSC ACF and Forest Ranger exam will consist of three stages i.e. Written Examination, Physical Test, and Viva Voce Test (Interview).

• Paper I, Paper-II will be subjective papers of 300 marks each and will be set in the English language only
• For Paper III, Paper IV, Paper V, Paper VI which are called the optional subjects, candidates have to choose two subjects from the list of the optional subject set. Each subject will have 2 papers of 200 marks each.
• Before the viva voce test round and after the written examination, all the candidates who cleared the written examination will have to submit the self-attested copy of all the documents mentioned on the website for certificate verification.

• After this written test, selected candidates called for a Physical test.
