TNEA Exam 2024: Notification, Application Dates

TNEA 2024 Notification will be released soon. The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Tamil Nadu for the candidates who have cleared their high school examinations. The candidates can attempt the TNEA entrance exam to get admission in one of the participating colleges to pursue engineering courses offered in Tamil Nadu. 

• Admissions will be offered through a single window counselling session. 
• Cut off marks for all the communities will be released separately on the official website of TNEA. 
• Reservations for the sports quota will also be provided by the exam conducting board. 
• Candidates from other states who have completed their high school education in Tamil Nadu are also eligible to appear in the TNEA exam.

What is TNEA?

The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) is administered by the Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu. The exam conducting board offers various engineering courses to eligible candidates. The Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu grants admission through single window counselling, for which a merit/rank list is released by the authorities. After clearing the TNEA exam, the candidates can avail courses like Bachelors of Engineering (BE) and Bachelors of Technology (B.Tech) in TNEA participating colleges of Tamil Nadu

How to Apply For The TNEA Exam 2024?

The candidates are advised to read all the eligibility criteria mentioned below before applying for the TNEA entrance exam. If the candidate meets all the eligibility criteria, he/she can follow the steps mentioned below to apply for the exam:

Step 1: Open the official website and select the “Online Registration” link.

Step 2: Register by providing the required information and save the registration details such as password and registration number. 

Step 3: Fill in the personal and academic details and upload the relevant form as required.

Step 4: After checking all the entered information, submit the application and pay the application fees by debit card, credit card, UPI and other payment options as preferred. 

Step 5: Take Printout of the TNEA application form and preserve it for future reference.

TNEA 2024 Registration Process 

For the registration process of the TNEA entrance exam, the candidates are required to follow the steps listed below:

Step 1: Go to the official website of TNAE. Upload the required documents. 

Step 1: If the status shown is Incomplete, candidates have to scan all the required certificates as a single pdf file and upload it.

Step 2: After uploading they must freeze the upload and logout. If the status shown is 'upload not completed and Upload status as Not started', scan all the certificates as a single pdf file and upload.

Step 3: After uploading, freeze the upload and logout.

'In Progress' status indicates that certificate verification is under process and the 'Completed successfully' status indicates that Certificate verification is completed successfully for the current Application.

TNEA Eligibility Criteria 2024

The TNEA Exam Eligibility criteria 2024 for all the TNEA applicants has been mentioned below:

• The applicants must have passed their intermediate (Class 12th) or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects
• The minimum marks required for TNEA admissions is 45% in Class 12th for General Category for all other categories it is 40%
• The maximum age of applicant is 25 years. 

TNEA Syllabus 2024

There will be no entrance examination conducted by Anna University. The TNEA 2024 admission will be given on the basis of the marks scored in class 12th or equivalent and rank list. Therefore, no syllabus is prescribed by the authority.
