Feature | NEET (Current) | AIIMS MBBS (Until 2019) | JIPMER MBBS (Until 2019) |
---|---|---|---|
Conducting Body | NTA | AIIMS, New Delhi | JIPMER, Puducherry |
Exam Frequency | Once a year | Once a year | Once a year |
Number of Applicants | ~24 lakh (2024) | ~3 lakh (2019) | ~2 lakh (2019) |
Exam Difficulty | Moderate | High (analytical & reasoning) | Moderate |
Number of Seats | ~1 lakh (MBBS + BDS) | ~1,200 | ~200 |
Before NEET UG, there used to be individual exams thus, all seats were segregated. With the merging of all seats the number increased to more than one lakh. Thus, the number of candidates competing through single medical entrance also increased.
