OPSC OCS Exam Date 2025: Odisha Public Service Commission has released the tentative exam schedule for the Odisha Civil Service (OCS). OAS Exam is expected to be conducted on September-October 2025.

The paper 1 of GS is expected to be conducted from 10 am to 12 noon for 100 marks and paper 2 of GS from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm for 100 marks as per the previous year notification. The Odisha Public Service Commission conducts recruitment examinations annually for the positions of Group A and Group B in civil services. The commission has announced the OPSC civil services exam pattern along with the recruitment notification. The OPSC Civil Services and OPSC OAS Recruitment examination consists of 3 parts – The Preliminary Examination, Main Exam & the Personality Test. The syllabus for all these 3 parts is detailed below:

OPSC OCS  Prelims Syllabus 2025

The preliminary exam is conducted in 2 parts (Paper I & Paper II) of 2 hours each. This exam is a multiple-choice question-based. Detailed syllabus of Paper 1 & Paper 2 is mentioned below.

Paper 1

• Current events of National and International Importance
• History of India & Indian Historical moments
• Global Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and World
• Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political system, Panchayat Raj, Public Policy, Rights, Issues etc.
• Economic and Social Development – Sustainable development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives etc.
• General Issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-Diversity & climate change that do not require subject specialization
• General Science

Paper 2

• Comprehension
• Interpersonal skills including communication skills
• Logical reasoning and analytical behaviour
• Decision making and problem-solving
• General Mental Ability
• Basic Numeracy, Data Interpretation

OPSC Civil Services Mains Syllabus

• The second part in the series of exams is the Mains Exam.
• The Mains is conventional in nature i.e. the paper will have essay questions.
• Each paper is of 3 hours each

OPSC Civil Services Interview Syllabus

There is no determined syllabus by OPSC for Civil Services Interview. However, to crack the OPSC OAS interview of 250 marks, the candidate should be updated with the current affairs of the state, the nation and the world, in general. They will be tested on their personality, knowledge and their ability to answer questions from the interview committee.

OPSC OCS Selection Process 2025

The OPSC Civil Services selection process is a three-stage process comprising of the following steps:

1. The 1st stage is the Preliminary Examination which has 2 papers on General studies for 200 marks each. The pattern of the Preliminary exam is multiple-choice questions. This is a screening stage and the candidates are required to score at least 33% in Paper 2 to qualify for the next stage of OPSC civil services exam. 
2. Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary exam are then called by the OPSC for their 2nd stage i.e the Main Exam. It consists of 9 papers divided into mainly 2 parts viz. Compulsory Papers and Optional Papers. 
3. Candidates obtaining the minimum qualifying marks in their OPSC OAS Recruitment Main Exam will be called for a Personality Test and their respective interviews shall be fixed. During this stage, the documents submitted by candidates at the time of online application are also verified.
