Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven: A box containing the denominations of fifty paise coins, one rupee coins and ten rupee coins amount to Rs 1840.
We know that:
1 Rupee = 100 paise
1 rupee = 0.01 Rupee
Calculation:
Let no. of coins of each denomination be 'a'.
Total value of coins inside the box (in paisa) = 0.5a + 1a + 10a
∴ 0.5a + 1a + 10a = 1840
⇒ 11.5a = 1840
⇒ a = 1840 ÷ 11.5
⇒ a = 160
Now, there are equal number of coins in all denominations:
So total number of ten rupee coins in the box will be ⇒ 160
Hence the correct answer is "Option 2".
