Given:

Avi alone can do a piece of work in = 60 days

Prakash alone can do a piece of work = 80 days

Formula used:

Work = Efficiency × Time

Calculation:

Let they both together can complete the work in X days.

The one-day work of Avi = \({1\over60}\)

The one-day work of Prakash = \({1\over80}\)

The one-day work of together = \({1\over X}\)

⇒ \({1\over X}={1\over60}+{1\over80}\)

⇒ \({1\over X}={4+3\over240}\)

⇒ \({1\over X}={7\over240}\)

⇒ \(X={240\over7}\)

∴ The required result will be \({240\over7}\).
