Given:

Find the least number which when divided by 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 leaves the remainder 3 in all cases.

Formula used:

Least Common Multiple (LCM)

Calculation:

LCM of (4, 6, 8, 10, 12) = ?

Prime factors:

4 = 22

6 = 2 × 3

8 = 23

10 = 2 × 5

12 = 22 × 3

LCM = 23 × 3 × 5 = 8 × 3 × 5 = 120

Required number = LCM + 3

⇒ 120 + 3 = 123

∴ The correct answer is option (4).
