Sum of observations = Average × Number of observations
Calculation:
Total number of books sold in first 3 month = 730 × 3 = 2190
Total number of books sold in first 4 month = 850 × 4 = 3400
Number of books sold in 4th month = 3400 - 2190 = 1210
Books sold in First month = 10% less than books sold in 4th month
∴ Books sold in First month = 90% of the books sold in 4th month
⇒ 1210 × 90/100 = 1089
