Tuesday 135 2/5
Wednesday 180 8/15
Thursday 144 3/8

The number of passengers who travelled in train C on Monday is 8/5th of the number of passengers who travelled in train B on Monday. Find the ratio of the number of passengers who travelled in train C on Monday to the number of passengers who travelled in train B on Wednesday.

General Solution:

Day Total Passengers Fraction in Train A Passengers in Train A Passengers in Train B
Monday 165 7/11 165 × 7 ÷ 11 = 105 165 - 105 = 60
Tuesday 135 2/5 135 × 2 ÷ 5 = 54 135 - 54 = 81
Wednesday 180 8/15 180 × 8 ÷ 15 = 96 180 - 96 = 84
Thursday 144 3/8 144 × 3 ÷ 8 = 54 144 - 54 = 90

Calculations:

Passengers in Train B on Monday = 60 (from general solution)

Passengers in Train B on Wednesday = 84 (from general solution)

Train C (Monday): 8/5 × 60 = (8 × 60) ÷ 5 = 480 ÷ 5 = 96

Required Ratio:

Train C (Monday) : Train B (Wednesday) = 96 : 84

Simplify: Divide both by 12 → 96 ÷ 12 = 8, 84 ÷ 12 = 7

Thus, the correct answer is 8:7.
