The RPSC RAS exam pattern 2025 is released by the Rajasthan Public Services Commission. Aspirants can form their own preparation strategy by understanding the RPSC RAS exam pattern. The pattern of the RPSC RAS Exam is somewhat similar to the IAS Exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission. The selection process involves a prelims exam, mains exam followed by an interview. According to the new RAS Scheme maths has been removed from the mains exam from 2018. The RAS Pre exam is a screening test which is qualifying in nature and the score obtained in this exam won't be counted in the end.
The candidates must go through different rounds of the selection process to secure their seat in the commission. The RAS Pre exam consists of one paper, and the main exam consists of 4 papers.
The RPSC RAS Exam Pattern must be followed by the students to understand the marking scheme. Candidates must qualify for the prelims exam to get shortlisted to appear for the main exam, and then finally sit for the interview to secure their seat in the commission.
The Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services Combined Exam is conducted in three stages:
The difficulty level for the RPSC RAS Preliminary exam is set to the graduation level. The RAS Prelims Exam is conducted for 200 marks for a duration of 3 hours. The candidates must pass the prelims exam consisting of objective type questions to proceed to the next round of selection, i.e., the RPSC RAS Main Examination.

Those who qualify in the Prelims will move on to the Mains. The number of candidates selected for the Mains will be around 15 times the total number of vacancies.

The RAS mains Paper-I exam pattern concerns General Studies-I for 200 marks. This is the first RPSC RAS mains exam paper that the candidates need to attempt. It contains the general studies and questions relating to the history and economy of the country. The candidates must refer to the relevant books to score well in this round.

Similarly, RPSC RAS Main Exam Paper-II concerns General Studies-II for 200 marks. In this paper pattern, the candidate is tested on his logical ability and reasoning skills along with the geography of the state and country. RAS mains exam Paper-III concerns General Studies-III for 200 marks. In the General Studies-III paper, the current affair and the Indian political system knowledge of the person is tested. This RAS mains exam paper is of equal importance as it tests how up-to-date the candidate is regarding the events happening in the state and the country on a national level.

Paper-IV of the RPSC RAS mains exam contains General Hindi and General English language. The candidates are tested on their abilities to read/write general Hindi and English. They are tested on the basic vocabulary, grammar, and writing in this round. The Paper-IV is also conducted for 200 marks.
