UPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor Exam Eligibility Criteria 2025
For the post of UPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor the candidate must fulfill requisites mentioned in the official notification. The upper age limit is 30 years for Unreserved (UR) candidates, 33 years for Other Backward Classes (OBC), 35 years for SC/STs and 40 years for PwBDs.
Educational qualifications require candidates to hold a Law degree from a recognized university and enrollment as an Advocate. There is no restriction on the number of attempts as long as candidates remain within the prescribed age limit. To be eligible for the UPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor post, a candidate must fall under one of the following nationality categories:
- Citizen of India, or
- Subject of Nepal, or
- Subject of Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African countries like Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
It is important to note that the Candidates belonging to categories (b), (c), (d), and (e) must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India. Such candidates may be considered for the examination and can be provisionally appointed by the Commission, pending the issuance of the eligibility certificate by the Government.
