The exam authorities of the UPSC CMS will release the UPSC CMS Answer Key for all the subjects in slots. Firstly, the board releases the interim answer key against which the candidates can object. However, there is a second answer key that is final and that has to be considered while calculating the marks obtained in the UPSC CMS.

Step 1: Go to the UPSC official website.

Step 2: Scroll to the What's New section on the Homepage.

Step 3: Look for the UPSC CMS Answer Key for the branch that you gave the exam for i.e., Civil. Click on the link once you find it.

Step 4: Once the PDF file opens, you can click on Download.

How to Calculate Marks with UPSC CMS Answer Key?

The candidate can use this answer key 2024 to calculate the estimated marks that can be scored by them in the final Result. Candidates can calculate their marks for the UPSC CMS exam by the following steps given below –

Step 1: Download UPSC CMS Answer Key

Candidates need to first download the official answer key from the UPSC website using their registration/roll number.

Step 2: Cross-check Answers

They need to carefully cross-check each question they marked in the exam with the answers given in the official key.

Step 3: Separate Right and Wrong Answers

Candidates should separately note down correct and incorrect answers marked by them in the exam paper.

Step 4: Use Marking Scheme

UPSC follows a unique marking scheme of +4 for correct answer and -1 for wrong answer. They need to apply this scheme.

Step 5: Add Marks

Candidates need to add +4 marks for each correct answer and deduct -1 mark for incorrect ones to calculate total marks.

Step 6: Consider Challenged Questions

By adding total marks obtained, an estimated score out of maximum marks can be calculated for each section.

How to Raise Objections against UPSC CMS Answer Key?

The UPSC Commission provides the opportunity to the candidates to raise objections against the UPSC CMS Answer Key.. The objections are only raised through the “online question paper representation portal”. No representation by the candidates is acceptable through post or email or written objection. Follow the steps below to fill the representation:

Step 1: Go to the official website upsc.gov.in.

Step 2: On the main screen, click on examination. Under the examination tab, there is a “Time frame for representation” option. Click it.

Step 3: A pdf gets open containing the general information regarding the representation. In that, there is a link that redirects the candidates to the objection window.

Step 4: After that, a new window gets open in which a link for UPSC CMS examination is there as shown in the image below:

Step 5: As soon after clicking the link, the window asking relevant details about the candidates gets generated. Fill in the details and submit the form.

Step 6: Now you need to attach the proof for the objection, the question for which they are raising the objection, name, roll number, and others as asked to submit the UPSC CMS representation.
