Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
A sum of Rs. 53 is divided among A. B and C
A gets Rs. 7 more than what B gets and B gets Rs. 8 more than what C gets.
Calculation:
Let's assume that C gets x amount of money.
Then, B gets = x + 8
A gets = x + 15.
The total amount of money given to all three is
⇒ x + x + 8 + x + 15 = 53.
⇒ 3x + 23 = 53
⇒ 3x = 30
⇒ x = 10.
So, C gets 10,
B gets = x + 8 = 10 + 8 =18,
and A gets = x + 15 = 10 + 15 = 25.
The ratio of their shares can be expressed as A : B : C = 25 : 18 : 10.
