Given:

Wax with dimensions 70 cm, 44 cm, and 20 cm to prepare cylindrical candles, each 14 cm in diameter and 20 cm in height.

Formula Used:

Volume of cuboid = length × width × height

Volume of cylinder = π × (radius)2 × height

Calculation:

Volume of cuboid = 70 × 44 × 20

⇒ Volume of cuboid = 61600 cm3

Volume of one candle = 22/7 × (7)2 × 20

⇒ Volume of one candle = 22 × 140

⇒ Volume of one candle = 3080 cm3

Number of candles = Volume of cuboid / Volume of one candle

⇒ Number of candles = 61600 / 3080

⇒ Number of candles = 20

∴ The correct answer is option (1).
