Given:

Equation: 2x - y = p

Solution: (1, -2)

Formula used:

Substitute the given values of x and y into the equation.

When we put the solution coordinate in equation, then it becomes 0.

Calculations:

x = 1

y = -2

2x - y = p

⇒ 2(1) - (-2) = p

⇒ 2 + 2 = p

⇒ 4 = p

∴ The value of p is 4.
